Terms & Conditions
Last updated: August 9, 2026
1. Who We Are
These Terms & Conditions are a legal agreement between you and CustomDefenseLLC (referred to as “Custom Self Defense,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). CustomDefenseLLC operates the website and services offered at Custom Self Defense, including private self-defense training sessions, online memberships, and digital courses.
By accessing or using our website, booking a session, purchasing a product, or subscribing to a membership, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
2. Our Services
Custom Self Defense offers practical, adaptive self-defense instruction tailored to the individual. Services include:
- Private in-person training sessions in Malvern, PA and surrounding areas.
- Online memberships with weekly training videos, optional progress submissions, and instructor feedback.
- One-time digital courses such as “Self Defense Basics” and “Women’s Basic Self Defense.”
- Merchandise including apparel and accessories (subject to availability).
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any service or offering at any time with reasonable notice where practical.
3. Account & Eligibility
To purchase a membership or certain digital products, you may need to create an account. You must provide accurate, complete information and keep it updated. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian, to use our services or make a purchase. If you are booking on behalf of a minor or another person, you confirm that you have authority to do so.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use our services lawfully and respectfully. You must not:
- Use our services for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose.
- Harass, threaten, or harm instructors, staff, or other users.
- Infringe on intellectual property rights or distribute our content without permission.
- Attempt to disrupt, hack, scrape, or reverse-engineer the website or its systems.
- Misrepresent your identity or provide false information during booking or purchase.
Violation of these rules may result in suspension or termination of your account and access to services.
5. Payments, Subscriptions, and Refunds
All payments, subscription billing, tax handling, invoicing, and refund processing are conducted by our online reseller, Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. By completing a purchase, you agree to Paddle’s Buyer Terms. Paddle also provides customer service inquiries and handles returns.
Memberships renew automatically each month until canceled. You may cancel anytime through your account or by contacting Paddle support at paddle.net. Cancellation stops future billing; it does not refund the current billing period unless a refund request is approved under our Refund Policy.
Private sessions are currently paid at the time of service unless otherwise arranged. Prices, promotions, and availability are subject to change.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on this website and within our courses—including videos, images, written materials, drills, branding, and curriculum—is owned by CustomDefenseLLC or licensed to us. Your purchase or membership grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to view and use the content for personal training and learning purposes only.
You may not redistribute, resell, record, reproduce, or publicly share our content. You may not reverse-engineer or copy our training methods for commercial use without written permission.
7. Health, Safety, and Assumption of Risk
Self-defense training involves physical activity. You are responsible for your own health and safety. Consult a physician before beginning any training program if you have health concerns, injuries, or are pregnant. Participate at your own risk and within your ability.
Our instruction is educational and practical. We do not guarantee outcomes in any real-world confrontation, and nothing on this site constitutes legal or professional security advice.
8. Service Availability
We aim to keep our website and services running smoothly, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free performance. Maintenance, technical issues, or circumstances beyond our control may affect availability. We are not liable for any temporary inability to access services.
9. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to our services if you:
- Violate these Terms in a material way.
- Fail to pay amounts due.
- Engage in fraud, abuse, or conduct that creates a safety risk.
- Repeatedly violate our policies or community expectations.
Upon termination, your right to access paid content and memberships ends, and any remaining subscription will not renew. You remain responsible for all charges incurred prior to termination.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CustomDefenseLLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of our services, including lost profits, data loss, or personal injury beyond what is required by law.
Our total liability for any claim relating to our services is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts located in Chester County, Pennsylvania.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with the revised date. Continued use of our services after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
